Employment opportunities
The PhD course selects candidates with excellent potential. It provides them training so as to allow them to reach top job positions in the legal sector, or in sectors where legal skills are required.
Research doctorates may access employment in public bodies, international organizations and companies, in Italy and abroad, in which they can use the skills they acquired during the doctorate. Among the most frequent employment opportunities there are university research (not only in Italy but also abroad), the judiciary, the legal and notary professions, and senior management.
Both those who have got the PhD and PhD candidates in Law, the Individual and the Market have solid professional prospects, including in the academic field, and not only in Italy, also thanks to substantial research periods abroad during the PhD. Job offers or career developments occur even before the doctoral course is completed. The stringent selection procedures, which are aimed at verifying the rigor of thought and the ability to work at a supranational level, have led to the recruitment of doctoral students who have continued their academic careers abroad, or they have passed the judiciary competition, have become notaries or highly skilled lawyers, or have acquired managerial positions in the private and public sectors.
At the School and Doctoral course levels, initiatives have been undertaken to monitor the employment opportunities of research doctors.
